Appreciation for active participation in mega covid vaccination camp

On 3rd December 2022, Directorate of public health (DPH) & preventive medicine, Chengalpattu district honoured and awarded SRM College of Nursing for an active participation in mega COVID vaccination camp.

Transforming Evidence into Practice in Nursing

On 9th October 2024, SRM College of Nursing participated in the seminar on “Transforming Evidence into Practice in Nursing,” organized by Hindu Mission College of Nursing. The seminar, aimed at integrating research evidence into nursing practice, provided an enriching platform for professional development and enhanced the knowledge of participants in evidence-based practices. Five faculty members, 21 postgraduate students, and five Ph.D. scholars represented SRM College of Nursing at the event.

Notable achievements included Dr. Valarmathi V, Assistant Professor, receiving the Best Poster Award in the E-poster category for her outstanding contribution, and Ph.D. scholars Ms. Subraja R and Ms. Bhagawaty Kalikotay excelling in the Quiz Competition, securing prizes. Dr. Baminidevi, Professor, represented the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council as the program observer. The seminar served as a valuable opportunity to foster discussions on evidence-based practices and reinforced the importance of continuous learning in the nursing profession. Congratulations to all the winners and participants for their commendable accomplishments!

Mrs. M. Angeline Dhanalakshmi, Associate Professor, has been honored with the Best NSS Program Officer Award, and Ms. Aheli Mukherji,B.Sc (N) IV year student (2023-2024 batch), has been recognized with the Best NSS Volunteer Award for NSS Unit 4.

These prestigious awards were presented by the esteemed Chief Guests, Dr. PM Nair (former Director General of NDRF) and A. J. Hariharan (Founder and CEO of ICWO).

National Cancer Awareness Day

On National Cancer Awareness Day 2024, the Adyar Cancer Institute hosted a Student Integration Program on 28th November 2024 at its Chennai campus. The event brought together students from 10 nursing colleges, providing them a platform to showcase their creativity, knowledge, and skills through various competitions.

Students from SRM College of Nursing participated with enthusiasm and achieved remarkable success in the program:

  • Poster Presentation:
Mr. Bruce Willson, a B.Sc. (N) third-semester student, displayed exceptional creativity and understanding of cancer awareness topics. His insightful poster stood out among entries from other colleges, earning him the First Place award.
  • Quiz Competition:
The SRM College of Nursing quiz team demonstrated strong teamwork and in-depth knowledge of oncology-related topics. Competing against five highly skilled teams, they secured an impressive Second Place.

Mou With Overseas Manpower Corporation Ltd

  • Tamil Nadu skill development Corporation (TNSDC) and Overseas Manpower Corporation Ltd (A Government of Tamilnadu Undertaking) providedFree occupational English Training (Occupational English Test) & offers Job placement for Final year Nursing students at NHS hospitals, UK after successful completion of OET exam with desirable grades.
  • The MOU for the OET trainingwas signed by SRMIST and Overseas Manpower Corporation Ltd (A Government of Tamilnadu Undertaking) on 06.2022. 
  • BSc(N) IV year students 19 & DGNM III year student 1 (One)of them along with their parent’s consent (written) underwent OET Training.

With regard to the OET training sessions sponsored by OMCL, Honourable Gingee K. S. Masthan, Minister of Minorities Welfare, Non Resident Tamils Welfare, Refugees & Evacuees and Wakf Board. Government of Tamilnadu, Visited SRM College of Nursing on 23.08.2022 between 03.00 p.m to 05.00 pm and interacted with the students to obtain their feedback
